I am thrilled to see that the Paper Source has finally added fuchsia to their color palette. It’s such a popular and terrific ‘pop’ color for weddings and special events it’s nice to see that they have jumped on the wagon – finally!

2009 Bride's Choice Awards presented by WeddingWire | Wedding Cakes, Wedding Venues, Wedding Photographers & More

I am thrilled to find out that my business has won the 2009 WeddingWire.com Bride’s Choice Award in the Invitations and Favors category! I can’t thank the brides that have taken time to contribute a review enough. They may be small in numbers but they have been heard! Thank you, thank you. This award signifies the top 3% of over the 100,000+ vendors on the website. Check out the press release from WeddingWire.com here.

2009 is already presenting itself with wonderful clients and incredibly creative and passionate brides. I am honored to be a vendor for their wedding day and look forward to working with them in creating custom works of art that reflect them as a couple and the wedding as an incredibly special event. Thanks to all of you who have entrusted this significant responsibility with me.

I’ve recently received many photographs of my works from 2008 “in action” and stay tuned for posts in the upcoming days detailing out the events and their paper creations.

Best,

Eileen

Welcome to my design blog! I thought I would start out by defining something I’ve been trying to ‘label’ for quite sometime.

Paparista: n, A woman who works with paper to create custom works of communicative art.

I would call myself a paparista, self proclaimed, for my passion is creating with paper. I want to create something you’ve never seen before. I want to create – reinvent – the way (and the care we take) in which we communicate. I specialize in life events. I love to work with people who have something to celebrate. I like to translate their excitement into design that excites others. A wedding, a new addition to a family, a new home, cocktail parties or a simple ‘hello.’ Every single day I check the mail, bill, flyer, direct mail advertisement, bill…you see where I am going. Pre-printed labels or CURRENT RESIDENT call my ‘name’, but my face lights up when I see an envelope hand addressed to me from a friend that wanted to send a long a note or an invitation, they are truly talking to me. I love being able to give people such excitement like invitations or announcements, events to look forward to or a thank you note for a thoughtful gift.

This blog will be a catalog of projects old and new. A place to come to for inspiration and conversation. I welcome constructive comments and ideas on how to improve upon design or execution. I will post photos and how to’s as projects present themselves. We never stop learning and I look forward to learning from you and hopefully inspiring new ideas as well.

Thanks for reading,

Eileen
